Herrankukkaro

Herrankukkaro is a unique, personal and enchanting fisherman’s homestead complex located among 41,000 islands on the island of Rymättylä in Naantali. The farmstead has been built into a facility for conferences, instructional courses and recreation for groups. Although a haven of peace in the heart of the archipelago, Herrankukkaro can be reached by car from downtown Turku and the Turku airport in just 30 minutes, and with the new highway from Helsinki, the trip from Helsinki is just over two hours.

When you arrive at Herrankukkaro, it is like stepping decades back in time. The way of life in the Finnish archipelago is based on a certain genuineness, the authenticity of our roots and old-fashioned values. Exotic, but not primitive. A place of well-being.

The archipelago nature also provides a favorable setting for a tight schedule of meetings. Meeting participants do not have to run futilely from one place to another in the city. Most conference organizers are attracted by the positive, receptive attitude of the partici-pants and their commitment to the subject. For example, staff training is a big financial investment for a company, with the absences from work, so the environment for the con-ference is no trivial matter.

There are nine conference rooms in total in the village, and we can accommodate up to 240 participants if necessary. Modern equipment – Internet connection and video projectors. Work group areas are available, for example, in the birdwatching tower and the beach shelter. The surrounding nature, its history and culture set the scene for breaks from work, either during the meeting or afterwards. Many enjoy the fyke boat trips to the island of the bootleggers’ caves. The village’s four smoke saunas, including the world’s largest smoke sauna, a 124-seat genuine underground smoke sauna, in addition to the heated pools of Kaislikko spa, will enable you to end your meeting day with a feeling of well-being. In the winter, we always have a hole open in the ice for a quick, invigorating swim.

Fishing and preparing the archipelago food on-site is one of the traditions of the old fish-erman’s homestead. Koivuniemen Janne’s buffet table with 20 different kinds of fish is known throughout the archipelago. Smoking and cold-smoking, broiling and ember-roasting make it possible to enjoy up to 20 different fish delicacies at the same time. There are over 20 buildings that house accommodations. All are exotic, clean and cozy. A change from hotel living.

Year-round availability is important. Neither the season nor the weather can interfere with a successful event. On the contrary. Our busiest times are in autumn, winter and early spring. All sectors of our clientele are represented in the approximate 500 groups we re-ceive per year, one third of which are from abroad. Our business focuses on pre-booked group services.

Our staff consists of roughly 15 customer service representatives. According to customer feedback, our service rates 4.8 out of five. We are continually updating our training and we enjoy and take pride in our work. Appreciation for our work keeps us going, and we have received this appreciation. Many national and international awards have presented us with even more challenges. We are happy in our work, in the midst of the Creator’s gift to us Finns—the Finnish archipelago. It’s like living in the “Lord’s purse” (a literal translation of the name “Herrankukkaro”).

Herrankukkaro is a family business, which is comprised of comprehensive archipelago and nature services, including the steamship S/S Ukkopekka and charter vessels, Loistokari island’s dinner and wharf dance services. The whole archipelago will be yours to discover when you stay with us. Welcome!
